1. Information We Collect

When you use Inspired Chapters, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: Email address and password when you create an account after purchasing the book.
• Payment information: Digital purchases are paid via Airtel Money as shown on the purchase page. We do not store your mobile money PIN or full payment credentials on our servers. We may record that a payment was confirmed so we can grant access.
• Order information: Name, email, and shipping address when you order a print copy.
• Newsletter: Email address if you subscribe to updates.
• Usage data: Reading progress and bookmarks stored locally in your browser.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain your reader account.
• Process purchases and verify payment.
• Fulfil print copy orders and provide shipping updates.
• Send newsletter updates if you have subscribed.
• Respond to your enquiries.

3. Data Storage and Security

Account data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage and authentication. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Mobile money payments are completed through your provider (e.g. Airtel); we do not receive your PIN.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

This site uses browser local storage to save your reading preferences (font size, theme) and bookmark position. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Supabase authentication may set a session token in local storage to keep you signed in.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Airtel Money and other mobile money services when you pay using the number provided on the purchase page. See your provider’s privacy policy for how they handle transaction data.
• Supabase for authentication and data storage. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare for website hosting and CDN. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time.
• Change your account password through your account page.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Payment transaction records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.
